There will be no cavalry charging over the hill to help the beleaguer Cardiff City squad out at Plymouth tonight. The Cardiff boss Dave Jones along with chairman Peter Ridsdale have had no luck with bring in any new signings in time for the game so Jones will put his faith in the younger members of his squad. It will be a youthful bench again move than for the Blackpool game 17-year-old Adam Matthews who had his debut at Blackpool for Paul Quinn could even start the game. Dave Jones has only one option as cover for his two main strikers Chopra and Bothroyd, young striker Josh Magennis who as very limited first team experience with highly rated midfield Aaron Wildig should have a spot on the bench. Defender Aaron Morris is expected to complete a quartet of players yet to reach their 20th birthdayDave Jones speaking to the media said, “We’re not close to signing anyone at the moment. “I’m hoping we’ll get someone in.“But the longer we leave it, the shorter my list gets because other teams will have stepped in.“It’s unusual for us – and unlucky for us – to pick up so many injuries so early in the season.“But it’s never got me down when players pick up injuries.“We’ve got to make this situation a positive, not a negative – otherwise people start feeling sorry for themselves and start using it as an excuse.“It’s not the best situation, but we’ll try and turn it into a good one.”It’s not an ideal situation for the club to be in but it shows the lack of cover in the team and the need of a few more bodies most of the young player have just move up for the academy. Chairman Ridsdale is rumoured to be sitting on his hands a bit went it comes to financing new players, here would have liked to generate some cash from the transfer of maybe Ross McCormack and Joe Ledley the latter being the only option left now. Only 13 days until the transfer window will close leave only the emergency loan system until Junuary 1st when the transfer window opens again for one month.
